The Home page is the central place where your visitors start exploring your apps and categories. From here, users can instantly begin a chat with your default bot, browse your Featured Categories, and discover Featured Apps you’ve chosen to highlight.
This article explains how to use and configure the Home page.
Starting a Chat from the Home Page
At the top of the Home page, you’ll see a chat message bar.
Type in any message, and it will open a new conversation with the default bot you’ve set up for your site.
This provides visitors with a quick way to engage right away.
Important: If no default bot is set, the chat bar will not appear on the Home page.
Setting Up Featured Categories
Featured Categories allow you to highlight up to 4 key categories on your Home page.
To set them up:
Go to Website Properties > Featured Categories.
Click Add Featured Category.
Choose the category, then select an icon and color.
Repeat the process for up to 4 categories.
Click Save Changes when finished.
Once saved, your chosen categories will appear under the Featured Categories section on the Home page.
Note: If no featured categories are set, PromptForm will automatically display 4 categories.
Setting Up Featured Apps
Featured Apps give you a way to spotlight specific apps directly on the Home page.
To enable them:
Go to Website Properties > Advanced.
Tick the box labeled Enable Featured Apps block.
In the Featured Apps field, enter the app IDs you’d like to feature.
Separate each ID with a comma.
Example:
1,2,3,4The order you enter them is the order they’ll display on the Home page.
Click Save Changes.
Note: If Featured Apps are not set up, PromptForm will automatically display your 8 most recent apps under an “All Apps” section instead.
Troubleshooting & FAQs
Why don’t I see the chat bar?
The chat bar only appears if a default bot is set in your site’s settings. If none is set, it will not show on the Home page.
Why are my categories showing up randomly?
If you haven’t configured Featured Categories, PromptForm automatically displays 4 categories. To control which ones appear, set them under Website Properties > Featured Categories.
Why aren’t my Featured Apps showing?
Make sure you’ve enabled the Featured Apps block in Website Properties > Advanced and added the app IDs correctly (separated by commas).
If not configured, PromptForm will default to showing your 8 most recent apps under “All Apps.”
Can I feature more than 4 categories or apps?
No. You can display up to 4 Featured Categories and a maximum of 8 Featured Apps (based on the IDs you enter).
